Manual Machinist
Full Time • Denville
Seeking dependable, motivated Manual Machinists to join a growing manufacturing team. Candidates should have experience operating manual milling machines and/or manual lathes. Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Work in a clean, air-conditioned, well-maintained machine shop offering opportunities for skill development and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual milling machines, including Bridgeport vertical mills, and manual engine lathes.
- Perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, boring, and facing operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and machining specifications.
- Select cutting tools, set up workholding, and adjust machines to meet tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain quality standards and a safe, organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Manual machining experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with Bridgeport mills and/or manual lathes highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
